safe and sound

in brief. it rained most of the day, which prompted the purchase of what will here-to-fore be known as the Coolest Umbrella Ever Made. as it is much colder than i planned, i also purchased the World’s Best Black Hat from a street vendor. somewhere in there i saw some modern art, watched a flock of new york’s finest lining up on fifth avenue, had some curry and saw suzanne vega. oh, and there is a sixty foot tall spiderman creeping down the front of the loew’s theatre on 42nd street near times square. rock!

I’m so jealous that you had a Real Live Celebrity Spotting. I’m not nutty about Suzanne Vega or anything, but every time I go to NY I almost sprain my neck scanning random crowds for celebrities.
The last time I was there I was striking out again. But the last night we ate at a celebrity-worthy Tibetan restaurant in the Village. The atmosphere was right. And I was thrilled when I saw that Melissa Ethridge, or a reasonable facsimile thereof, was also dining at a nearby table. At the end of the meal one of my bold friends approached her and briefly chatted with her. He had to break the news to me when he came back to our table that she was not Melissa Ethridge nor was she even slightly related to Melissa Ethridge.
    I’m so jealous.

Does it count that I saw Al Roker in Laguardia???

Meanwhile I am impressed that Sony seems to have the jump on Clones as the “event” movie of the summer. Too bad that my *itchy ex-manager will have had a lot to do with the glitzy celebration in NY. She doesn’t deserve to do something that cool.

You’ll need to worry for His safety again, as I plan on taking him on a pub tour Saturday night. NOW who’s jealous?

Well I will say not me there. I don’t particularly like bars in NYC. Never have. Cafe’s and breakfast yes. Parties yes.. Friendly get togethers yes. NYC bars to me SUCK they are to crowded and the pretentious level is out of this world..
