at least the colors stayed the same. mostly. anyone who runs a site like this will go through occasional phases of redesign. some will come gradually, like this one has over the last two days. some will be drastic and immediate, usually with unfortunate consequences. i mean, imagine the outcome of refurnishing your living room

a sign of the retail apocalypse

one of the more dreaded traditions of college life is about to disappear. remember standing in long ass lines, waiting with all of your fellow students and praying that the high-priced tome needed for your 400-level class would still be in stock? well, exit the college bookstore and enter… walmart.

playing in a rock & roll band

musicians are like actors in the way they so willingly fill missing ranks in their number. perhaps it is just my own experience talking, but when there is a need in the community, there are those rare few who are called upon to fill a role. not just because they are willing and available, but

remembering sand grabbed

after some welcome contract work this morning, the visiting darrell and i took to the not-too-open road in his rented hyundai sonata. our destination: our alma mater. berry college. it’s where we met, where we learned (in class or out), where we lived (for a couple of years) and most of all it is where
