we have cats

allow us to introduce the latest members of our household.

This is daeva. this is daeva. a girl.

this is daksha. this is daksha. a boy.

daeva and daksha came to us from cats in the cradle, a no-kill shelter in roswell. we found them about a month and a half ago during the shelter’s weekend visit to the roswell petsmart. they were in the same cage and were obviously a matched set. we wanted to take them home, but the apartment was in disarray and we knew there was a lot of painting ahead of us after the move. however, mrs fuller from the shelter was kind enough to keep them until we had moved completely into our new home.

and today they arrived. so far, we’ve discovered that daksha has never seen his own reflection in a mirror and has a definite dislike of ceiling fans. daeva, however, is absolutely fearless and likes to get daksha in what can only be called a feline full nelson. and best of all, as odd as both might be, neither of them appear to be malicious or psychotic. for a person with a history of mean-ass cats, this is such an amazing thing…

oh poor girl kitty, already classified as an evil spirit, even as you describe her as not.

I think Daksha would disagree . . . he gets rousted out of sleep by sharp claws and teeth a little too often for his own tastes, I think.

Of course, he’s bigger, so he just pins her down, but still.

Hee! I just got another kitty this weekend too! I got Sam in May, and he needed a friend…being all alone in the apartment all day made him lonely, I think. Rex is very cute, and likes to give me head butts.
