i’ll need to see some ID

i’ve turned off anonymous comments. why? well, it appears that somebody or something is trolling through random weblogs around the globe and leaving advertisements disquised as commentary. advertisements for what? well, the one i found this morning was promoting the availability of cheap weight loss drugs from denmark…

Hmmm. That’s fun. Maybe the Danes do have the inside track on being skinny, though. The skinny on being skinny? Hmmm.

Well, you know, something always was rotten in the state of Denmark.

    Now I want a Danish.

When one enables anonymous commenting in MT, you still see the poster’s IP address, right? Or do you not have the comments sent to you via email?

  • Anonymous

    Sorry to hear that.

But, in the meantime, I’ve got this amazing product that I’d like to talk to you about…
    ;)

The Comments still appear in my MT control panel, complete with IP addresses. Turning of anonymous posting does more to prevent the less sophisticated roaming bots that are programmed to plug in comments without email addresses. The smarter bots, the ones with accompanying emails, they’ll probably keep right on commenting.

Why do you hate Denmark so much?

He’s seriously torn up about Denmark cause I just got back from there and told him how great it is. He’s jealous of hardwood floors EVERYWHERE and a country full of attractive people. So now he’s making sure that no one will ever hear from that country again. This is just the first step in his master plan to shut all of Scandinavia (and Minnesota, too) off of the internet. I’d try to get riled up about it, but I went to Christiania while I was there, so I just don’t care too much.
