What was the point of the upgrade? I know as much of a bitch as MT is, I’d be deathly afraid to even attempt an upgrade unless it was really, REALLY something special.

    So, what gives?

The benefit of the upgrade was simply to bring my version of MT up-to-date with everyone else. I last installed it in February, just prior to the release of v.2.6 (two days prior, actually), but had just been procrastinating since then.

Honestly, the upgrade is dreadfully simple. And it allows you to apply (if you choose) many of the plug-ins that folks have made specifically for MT. While the features might be lacking in part, I still find MT to be the best tool yet for keeping a weblog. IMHO. :)
