thanks, but no thanks

several of you have received emails from internetseer about this site. they go a little something like:

On Wed Nov 19, 2003 at 01:28:52 AM EST we were unable to reach your website …

first of all, the site hasn’t been down today. secondly, if it was, the only person that needs to be notified is me. so that means that a spider went creeping through my site and picked up email addresses from the comments. then those email addresses were used in internetseer’s marketing campaign. did they do the spidering or did they buy the addresses from elsewhere? not sure. but what i do know is that you won’t be getting anymore emails from internetseer. why?

because i called them.

their CIO was very polite and had no problems about no longer considering my site and using your email addresses… once he realized that grabbingsand makes no money.

Well thanks because that was weird. It just wouldn’t let me access once. Thought the ISP was slow refreshed boom I was there. Then I got that freaky email.

I’ve gotten that before off of my own website. But wasn’t expecting it off of yours. Now if I could just my hands on the necks of those jerks who keep faxing me random crap…

I was lucky: my snotmail filed it as “junk mail.” I looked it over and figured that, for once, Microsoft was right, so I didn’t give it a second thought.
