Exceptionally Careless

Depending on your point of view, this amazing cover of a familiar love song is either whipsmart parody at it’s very best or two talented men who need to collaborate more or just plain brilliant. If you can’t tell from the voices, it’s Ben Folds and Rufus Wainwright, caught in a nostalgic mood last month at Wolftrap.

In unrelated news, you should know that there is no provision in place to postpone a national election — and there are those who wish such a provision existed.

Amazingly brilliant. That’s one of the best covers I’ve heard in years.

Of course it is. It’s Rufus. And Rufus rocks.

Um.. I am just about to totally vent in my journal about the FEAR factor. This whole administration has been hell bent on keeping us in fear. Really I feel Bush is a terrorist at this point. So to say somthing I am about to post about..”Why is is that everything else can be done early? The handing over Iraq was early..ect.. but when it comes down to election day.. They want to discuss postponement instead of earlier. To be even more frank.. Oh hell *goes to finish her journal rant..

*drools* Thank you, sweet jesus, for the love that is Ben and Rufus.

Ben just rocks like that in concert pulling out jems heard on (former) Peach 94.9 and tuning them up a notch. And Rufus – well, the voice speaks for itself.

    Amazing.

I was in absolute shock when i read about that. WTF? I think Bush really is on crack, or he is getting some very bad advice from his advisors. This is definitely NOT the right move for him to make right now, politicially speaking.

I quote Bugs Bunny: “Whatta maroon”.

Wow…it always amazes me how you find the most wonderfully obscure music. Thanks. :)

    excellent cover.

I have an mp3 of Barenaked Ladies covering this song as well, and although its not as cool as Ben & Rufus, its quite good.
