    A few months ago, I went back and watched some of his interviews, and it was amazing how much better he was than anybody on TV now. His wit was fierce, and it was like he always knew exactly where the line was and found a way to make it look like he crossed it without actually crossing it (the line being good-natured ribbing versus being malicious to get a rise, which Letterman used to do on his old show sometimes before he went to CBS and got bland). Anyway, I’m ranting, but Jay Leno makes me ill having grown up watching Carson.
