Serenity Now!

(Oh, come on. It was an easy joke. And actually, Serenity is not now. It arrives on September 30. The trailer, however, is up and available for viewing. So go. Get to it … and if you’ve never seen Firefly, the original Fox-cancelled show, you really should.)

And by the way … training is over. My rather non-communicative status is over too.

    Yay! on all counts.

    My friend is complaining that it sounds like there’s sound in the space shots. And that River is suddenly Trinity. And that it looks more action-packed than the show had been.

    I shrug.

    1. Sound in space would suck. But, trailers are done by trailer directors, and are generally saturated with sound. I do not worry.

    2. Um, lots of action and lots of funny in the first one. IT IS A SPACE OPERA. There will be shooting and fighting. It’s okay. Really.

    3. The River story has been going in the direction of finding out what they did to her, and if what they did to her was make her a badass killing machine (which is very foreshadowed in the show), then fine. Since China and the West merged to make this funky culture, skilled Martial Arts is not something I am surprised to see. I think it will rock.

    I’m thinking it will be pretty good too. My friend said that silent space was his #1 favorite thing about the show. Umm.. I think it had more to offer than that ;) But I can see it being a cool detail.

    The problem will be getting anyone from the NJ Crew to go see it. They all hated Firefly. :-/

    OMG!!!!! So excited – except that i have only been able to see the trailer, since none of the computers i have access to have sound. BLARG i say.

    But yay for being back! How was the movie last night?

    I never really got into the show – maybe I’ll have to give the movie a try. Just because Chiwetel Ejiofor is in it and he’s a super cool guy (he’s the baddie)
