Where Is Hampton Bay?

There are two Hampton Bays.

One is a lovely harbor in Virginia, nestled right up against the better-known Chesapeake Bay. Actually, it’s called Hampton Roads Bay, but two words out of three is close enough. Who needs “roads” in their bay, anyway?

The other is a brandmark found on everything from ceiling fans to faucets, from kitchen sinks to wall sconces. What all of these items have in common is that they can only be purchased at Home Depot. This is key. So when I needed to contact the good people at Hampton Bay to replace a broken globe on a lighting fixture, the route I took was surprisingly convoluted. Since I bought it at Home Depot, I called the Home Depot. “Need to replace a broken globe,” I said. You’ll have to call Hampton Bay, he replied. Fine.

Hampton Bay’s Catalog Line: 1-888-841-1350.

I called Hampton Bay’s Catalog Line. My call was answered quickly and there wasn’t a second of holdtime. An overly pleasant voice on the other end welcomed me to the Hampton Bay Catalog Line, so I said, “Need to replace a broken globe.” “Oh, I’m sorry, sir … did you purchase that at Home Depot?” Yes. I did. But the Catalog Line doesn’t service items purchased at Home Depot. I will have to contact Hampton Bay Customer Support.

Hampton Bay Customer Support: 1-877-527-0313

I called Hampton Bay Customer Support. This time, I landed on hold. I was only there for a minute, but the hold music was familiar. This little acoustic guitar riff led into a violin arc, followed by a man’s voice, assuring me that I could do it and they could help. Hmm. As I was pondering, the operator answered. He had questions. Name, phone number, address … then finally he asked how he could help. I said, “Need to replace a broken globe.” “Oh, that’s too bad, sir … do you have the UPC code?” I did. I gave it to him. He looked it up and told me that they couldn’t give or sell me a replacement globe, but that he would give me a phone number for the product’s actual vendor. Luckilly, this vendor is in the 404 area code.

So tomorrow afternoon, I’ll be heading over to Marietta to pick up a $10 chunk of opal frosted glass, after talking to four different people from basically the same company. Hampton Bay is a registered trademark of Homer TLC, Inc. Homer TLC, Inc. is a holding company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Home Depot U.S.A., Inc. Therefore, Hampton Bay is Home Depot.

I think.

  • Don Babcock

I’ve got the same problem. Could you save me the trouble and pass along the contact info/name of the store in Marieatta where you got the globe?

  • Clint

    Hi thre,
Great story about the “Kingdom of Homer” !!
btw – I’m in the same predicament – could you pass along the info/name of store that has replacement globes to me also?
    Thanks!!

  • http://tdshomeline.com Larry Steward

Thanks for taking the time to unfold the Hampton Bay ordeal. We needed some globes too and this saved me who knows how much time to connect with the right person.

Bottom line – the order is being sent to China for processing. We expecting the slow boat in about 4 to 6 weeks. Oh well, at least the process is in motion. Larry.

  • Dave Wightman

Same problem here. Did you get the replacement globe that you wanted? If so – where?
    Thanks

  • Kim Martin

This has to happen to hundreds of people each month. I broke a globe while unpacking it. It shouldn’t be this hard to replace it!
Many thanks for blogging your experience.

  • Compfan03

How can I thank you. I broke a glass cover to a brand new Hampton Bay fixture. This is the only place I was able to find the Hampton Bay customer service number. Thank you for publishing it. The good karma continues.

  • Jessica

Thanks for sharing! I’m trying to track down exterior lighting to match our other Hampton Bay lights–this will save me time searching. Good luck to all of you in search of replacement globes!

  • Sterling

You got the other way ’round. The Home Depot® is a registered trademark of Homer TLC, Inc.

But for all intents and purposes they are one and the same. Another customer service 3-card Monty – why torture another underpaid service representative (if you actually find one)

There’s nothing more annoying to upper management execs if you use your tax dollars to get government agencies into the mix (e.g. Better Business Bureau, FCC) as well as your own.

Needless to say, you can smile knowing the billable hours you invoke as the company feilds your communication juggernaut. Why, yes. You, too, can leaping right over customer service with only one properly addressed letter. I wage better than fair odds you get a better response.

Alas, I feel the cool breeze. Don’t you?

  • Sterling

    A DETRACTION

I must apologize, first for poor grammatical skills, but more importantly for some errors of fact in my first comment. “FCC” should have been SEC, the Security Exchange Commission.

As to the question of which entity is a subsidary of what company, and which tradename(s) are registered under what company — the entire legal structure is included in the Jan. 2005 Home Depot, Inc. annual report filed with the SEC and is accessible on-line as an Adobe Portable Document File (PDF) >> htt://www.shareholder.com/Common/Edgar/354950/1047469-05-9783/05-00.pdf

  • Benny

I first called Home Depot at 1-877-527-0313. They just told me the part that I was looking for was still in production and I should call King of Fans in FL at 1-800-330-3267. When I called King of Fans, after on hold for 10 minutes, I provided UPC (on the first page of ceiling fan Owner’s Manual if you still have it). Then I was told to provide my contact information and to wait for a callback because the part is in back order and is being shipped by sea from China. I will let you know what happens.

  • Jennifer

Tanks for the Customer Support Number. I too got the number of the company who makes the fixture. 1-877-249-9300. I was suprised however when they said they were sending me the 12″ alabaster glass shade that I needed in 7 to 10 days and free of charge. It seems you have helped make it a little easier for all of us looking for those hard to find replacement pieces to hampton bay light fixtures! Many Thanks!

  • Susie

This really got the best of me looking at this ceiling fan with no light shade. I got mad today so I started digging through my stuff and low & behold a book with the UPC code & model number. I have been on-line, up at the store really getting agitated then I found this blog.

Thank you I am calling bright & early tomorrow to see if I can get a replacement for this lifetime warranty ceiling fan purchased August 2002. Maybe I will buy a dozen light shades since my fan is going to last my lifetime.

  • Lizette Biel

I purchased a dual air conditioner/heater for my father last Christmas. When the weather became cooler-he turned it on last month. No hot air-only cold. We filed a report. A maintenance person stopped by and said he could find nothing wrong with it despite the fact that this was his second call with the same problem. Since he could find nothing wrong with it-it was obviously OK! Hampton Bay will entertain a second opinion if my father pays for the opinion. It doesn’t take Einstein to place your hand in front of the blower and decipher if the air is chilly or warm. Hampton Bay is no Einstein! My father is almost 70 years old and has a 2 year old living with him. This is their only source of heat. Neither Hampton Bay nor Home Depot has been cooperative in resolving this situation which has been going on for over 6 weeks. I live out of the country and cannot get home until December 22nd. I will purchase another source of heat if necessary-but I feel it is important for others to know about this pointing the finger exercise conducted by a company with the means to act honorably and ethically.

  • ROBERT COLLAZO

Help! I am looking for a frosted shade that has a triangular base and “locks” into the light fixture. No one seems to have heard of this. Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

  • Brett Hanford

I too am happy to find the blogs with the phone numbers for replacement parts. I needed to replace the glass fixture for my ceiling fan, so I called King of Fans @ 1-800-330-3267. Note that there hours are 8:30am – 4:30pm EST. I called right at 8:30am and the entire call to place the order, including the hold time, was 6 minutes according to the timer on my phone. Make sure you have the UPC code number that is located on the inside cover of the owners manual. I consider that pretty good customer service.

  • Elizabeth Reeves

I just called the Home Depot about a Hampton Bay Motion Security Lantern that I purchased a few months ago and has since died. They told me to take it up with the manufaturer. I said, “Well, it seem you are technically, the manufacturer…” They will be exchanging my porch light tomorrow, thanks to the information gained in this thread. Thank you!

  • Larry Meyer

It gets worse. I too have a “Hampton Bay” fan. You know the one with the “Lifetime” warrenty? Turns out the new definition of “Lifetime” is: For as long as we do business with the company that made the fan.

So my $75 dollar fan is now a $25 dollar gift card to Home Depot. Hmmm seems to me that is not what I would expect “Lifetime” to mean.

  • LeAnne Enderle

I want to thank you so much for this posting. I spend 2 hours yesterday trying to find a source for the burned out transformers in two pendant lights mfg. by Hampton Bay. Thanks to your information–I called customer service this morning and within 3 minutes, I was assured that two transformers would be mailed to my house in a few days. Ther person on the other end of the phone was so courteous and extremely helpful. Be sure you have the 6 digit model code from either the front of your box, or the instruction book. Thanks so much! Your information has saved me $80!

  • Ed Carroll

It looks like we are all in the same boat. Why can’t Home Depot make it easy for us. What a pain in the ass. Can I get that number as well. I need to get a globe as well.

Thanks for doing the leg work. Usually that is me and I am ready to kill somone, but I think that I am smartening up because I came to the internet first…

    Thanks again!

  • Thomas

With every new comment, I’m amazed at the longevity of this post. I’m glad I’ve been able to help some of you, and I hope the rest of you were inspired to keep looking for your answer.

Many of you have requested that last number. I’d be happy to post it, but unless I knew for sure that the item you need to replace was the same as mine, I fear that I’d be leading you in the wrong direction.

My advice? Call the last in the string of numbers. Be polite. Be insistent. Then let them tell you exactly which of their many distributors and vendors can help you for your specific broken member of the extended Hampton Bay family.

  • Maggie

Thank you so much for publishing the number for Hampton Bay Customer Support: 1-877-527-0313. I got connected right away to a nice young man named John. I gave him the UPC & SKU for the the sconce lamp that we broke upon installation and he told me there were no replacements, but he offered to send me a gift card for the amount of our purchase. I am so pleased with their customer support, and thank you again for your help.

  • Mel Marmer

I called 1-877-527-0313 also re. an opal glass shade I broke. John picked up immediately and was very pleasant. After I gave him a couple of six-digit numbers and the 12-digit SKU, it took him about a minute to tell me that my 5-light chandelier was manufactured by Bright, and that they would get in touch with me within a week or so regarding a replacement shade; and if they don’t get back to me, that I was welcome to call back. John explained to me that I can’t call Bright directly. Apparently Bright is a third-party vendor and does not accept end-user phone calls. So far so good. I really like my fixture and hope I can get the shade to replace the one I broke. Thanks bloggers and John!

  • Brian

I also called C/S after I bought (2) new ceiling fans only to find out that they do not provide covers from them if I do not want the light kit. C/S said sorry they don’t come with covers, BUT you can buy one for $5.00 each..I said, “I’ll take the fans back”. and hung up after a moment of silence. So, FWIW, Hampton Bay does not get anymore of my business.

  • John from N.J.

Thanks so much for this posting. I needed a replacement transformer for a Hampton Bay low voltage landscape lighting set. I ran into nothing but road blocks at Home Depot and trying to find a Hampton Bay website.

  • John (South Texas)

Broken glass. My story is similar. I called the number 1-877-527-0313 and talked to Juan. He was pleasant and I gave him my name, phone and mailing address. When I gave him the sku of the light fixture he said there is no replacement available and that I would have to go back to the Home Depot.

  • Pat Kansas

I had a wiring question for them. The number I was given by customer service was 877-989-1881. The answering machne said they were located in AZ, so will call a little later in the day.

  • Pamela Ann

    thank you, gracias, merci etc…
i too am a victim of h.d’s h.b. i’ve been trying to locate a replacement piece for a frosted pyramid style shade. did hampton bay sink into the atlantic?

  • Tori

Well, my luck seems to be about the same (or worse) as everyone else so far. I have contacted Hampton Bay’s CS number and they say that the globe for our light fixture cannot be replaced because the manufacture which is Lavery does not sell replacement globes. Also, they could not (or would not)give out the phone number for the manufactuer which is located in CA.
Needless to say this will be the last Hampton Bay Light fixture that we ever purchase.

  • Donna

When I did a web search on Hampton Bay, this blog was the FIRST site on the list and am I ever grateful. With 2 phone calls and minimal hold time I was able to get the replacement parts I needed for my outdoor lighting fixtures at NO CHARGE! Pretty good since I lost them myself. It’s nice to know there are people in the world who will share their experiences to that others can avoid the same hassles. Many thnaks!

    Donna in Maine

  • Trish (New Hampshire)

I also did many Hampton Bay website searches. I came up with nothing until this came up. I do not have a lighting fixture problem, but a patio umbrella. It was bought at the end of last season at H.D. and put it up this year to have the pole break. I called H.D. already to be told too bad and we’d have to buy a new one at $100 a pop! All we need is the bottom half of the pole. I’m hoping to get some assistance from this customer support #. Thank you for all the info. I have to wait until tomorrow to call, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed!!

  • Ed in Philadelphia

Does anyone know who manufactured the Hampton Bay air conditioners for them?

  • Jennifer

Thank you so much for the info. Our extremly HEAVY Hampton Bay fan fell right out of the ceiling the other night. Thank goodness we were not directly underneath it. It wound up landing on our bed and breaking a blade. Hopefully, we will have luck using this number on getting a replacment part (even though, to be honest, I’m a little scared to try to put it back up)!

  • http://darylf1mts.net Karen Friesen

I am having the same problem as almost everyone else only I am a Canadian and no one at the 1-877 could help me. I broke a globe and my local Home Depot said that Hampton Bay was almost impossible to deal with. The irony! Can anyone help?
    Karen

  • AJ

Hampton Bay Blows, just like Home Depot. Did you see what they did to their shareholders during this past meeting? Anyway, here some new info and some repeat info. Bought a 60 inch Hampton Bay Brookdale ($250 fan). I need a 5 foot downrod. No matching colors anywhere for oil brushed bronze….only “miramar weathered bronze.” Only problem, that color looks like crap and the mismatched predrilled holes allow for play at the fan base. I will not allow this fan to fall on my new hardwood floor!

Here’s the only resources I have, some of which I am repeating:
    1) FanTech (no end user sales) 225-275-5900
    2) King of Fans 1-800-330-3267
    3) Hampton Bay Customer Service 1-877-902-5588
    4) Home DePot (home of the royal flush…free swirlies) 1-877-527-0313
    5) Hampton Bay Catalog 1-888-841-1350
    6) FYI 1-877-989-1881 has been disconnected
    7) http://www.eceilingfans.com

Good Luck….you’ll need it! Without good part/customer support, this is the last time I will make the mistake of not buying from a nationwide fan specialist that’s been around for a couple dozen years. Kiss my bumper Home DePot!

  • Duchess

Yes, the Ho DePot no only stinks, it blows large chunks. I am ISO a replacement glass shade for a Hampton Bay Track Light. HD does not carry such items… imagine. No wonder my stock is in the toilet. I am a former employee and they treat their folks like shit! FRUSTRATION ABOUNDS.

  • joe

I bought two tiki torches at HD and within the first summer the parts housing the light fixture had failed, started “melting” and bent over. After 8 phone calls over a period of 8 months to HD and then Hampton Bay and then King of Fans and being told the part is on back order over a period of several months, I finally talked to a supervisor who said he would have them to me by the end of the week. We’ll see. Not 10 minutes earlier, a non-supervisor said they were on backorder, suddenly when I talked to the supervisor, they were in stock. What kind of scam is this. I will never buy a Hampton Bay product again.

  • Shari

Ten years ago, I bought 6 ceiling fans for my new house. Two of them were Hampton Bay fans from H.D. None of them have ever been turned off except to reverse the blades and to be cleaned. They’ve churned away for 10 years without a whimper, but recently I discovered that one of the Hampton Bay fans has decided to work only in updraft position. Has to be the switch, right? After reading all these blogs, I don’t suppose my chances of getting a new switch are very good, but after 10 years of faithful service, I really can’t complain. I think a switch from any fan should work, so maybe that’s a plan….

  • Steve

A website. What what a futuristic concept. Ya mean Home Depot could build a website (using data they make their vendors provide for free in whatever format Depot wants it) where a consumer could enter the “manufacturer,” model number, and click on the part to order the part? Oh wait, that might make money. Wouldn’t want to do that again.

  • Anna

I do what I always do when I buy something at Home Depot, just pack it in it’s original box and bring it back to Home Depot. No matter what is wrong they exchange or give money back (with a receipt) or a credit. If it is close enough to their 30 day policy anyway. Broken globes after 2 years is another matter. I was trying to find the Hampton Bay Webiste because I was trying to find a matching umbrella on line. Now I know why I am always sent to the Home depot website and no where else!! Thanks for the detective work.

  • Philip

Re Shari’s search for up-down switch. HD has a selection of universal switches for ceiling fans. I’ve replaced several. Best to remove the old switch to determine how many wires on your particular switch; that is how they ID them. Ive bought LIGHT KIT switched (pull chains break out) but not any “up-down” switches. If no luck go to Goodwill, Salvation Army thrift shops and buy the whole fan for a coiuple bucks. Canibalize it and toss the rest. Good Luck

  • Dan

I recently purchased a Hampton Bay “Miramar” fan, which has given me problems. After installing it, the remote would not work consistantly without going up on the ladder to get within a foot of the antenna. My first thought was that it was a weak battery, so put a new one in. Same problem. I called HD, who in turn put me on to an outfit in AZ, who acknowledged that there were “receiver” problems and sent me a new one. That one had the same symptoms, so they sent another. This one is the same. The guy told me to keep trying and apologized. Meanwhile, I called Hampton Bay about me being a guini pig. They are going to send me a $240 gift card and told me there’s no need to return the fan. With a free fan, I’m hoping to get another receiver to work. Just curious if anybody else has experienced the same problem.

  • dawn

    Wow… I wish I’d had all this information earlier…

About 2 weeks ago I went to HD to pick out lighting for some remodeling we are doing. Found matching Bercello Estates 52 inch (HB) ceiling fan, with matching light for my hall and a chandelier type for my entry. The hall light went up great.. looks WONDERFUL! Today we tried to install the ceiling fan. I am careful to unpack everything and use it when I need it.. guess what? Globe is cracked all across. Should have checked BEFORE installing the whole stinkin thing! I’ll be calling HB’s customer support first thing Monday morning.. if they don’t have it, I’ll grab my receipt and book and make the rounds to our local HD stores… hopefully if nothing else they can OPEN A BOX with the SAME FAN and give me my replacement globe.. I hope they do.. I have all the boxes and packing.. and if this doesn’t work.. it will be the last time I shop there. We have extensive remodeling going on, just finishing the 2nd room, with the kitchen up next on the list.. would hate for them to lose our business over a silly globe. I think I’ll let them know that. :)

Thanks again… time to get assertive. :)

Is it just me, or has Larry King had like 5 heart attacks and 5 divorces. I guess that’d be a broken heart for each.

  • Cynthia Danan

Thanks for the tel. #’s. I broke a 16″ globe and need a replacement – wish me luck.

  • Anne Marie

    Hi
Have Hampton Bay Fan and needed a replacement globe. Called Hampton Bay Customer Service who gave me the phone number for Air Cool and they sell replacement globes for Hampton Fans. Called them and gave them my UPC Code and they shipped the replacement globe in one week for hardly any money. Hope this helps.

Some of these messages have a happy ending,
My search for glass for my HB cieling fan
    begins tomorrow.
    Wish me luck

  • Gwen

WOW! This was so helpful. We have a 5 globe light fixture and came home one night only to find one globe broken and laying on our kitchen table. Looked at HD and Lowes to no avail for a replacement. Called 1.877.527.0313 today after reading this site, Sandy quickly assisted me, and my new globe is being shipped at no charge! Thanks!

  • http://grabbingsand cathy

Has anyone had to replace a transformer for a Hampton Bay sconce? Ours went out after only about 15-20 times being used…the bulb is fine, but the transformer is not. It is 3 1/2 years old, and they don’t sell the sconce in the store any more. I’ll try the customer service number and see if they can help, but if anyone out there has had this problem and had it solved another way, I’m all “ears”!

  • Rita

maybe some of you can find a part you need at hdsupply.com. There’s a place where you can look for lighting replacement parts. Hope this helps someone.

  • 62 mike

the above problems are typical in a world of layered “management companies” and out-sources who themselves outsource. and “made in china” means about what “made in japan” did before they got hip to quality in the ’60s: crap for less. 800 help lines are a joke in my experience; keep your blood pressure low and don’t bother. moral: you bought it – you’re on your own. unless you know someone who bought it or can find an online source that dares offers customer reviews, don’t buy it. also, boycott chain stores like home depot, wallmart, etc. or get used to more of the same. welcome to the future ,folks – ain’t it great!

  • 62mike

p.s. just took a chance bought a h.b. solar garden light for a gift (before reading the above comments);it worked out of the box- for how long who knows? i don’t expect much from any product from a virtual company…on the plus side, didn’t cost much. soon we may have to start building things in this country again; send corporate america to china and start doing it right again, from scratch.

  • Michael

I currently work for HD and I am also a customer. I wanted to purchase extra lights for my special order track light system by HB, but, after many calls to different numbers I find out that I cannot purchase new/extra parts for my system. What if I were to break one? I’d be out of luck I guess. As for you souls who like to take things back, you can take anything back to HD, with or without a receipt, whether or not you even bought it at HD. We often give people money back for items purchased from Lowes. A guy dropped a fridge out of his pickup the other day because he didn’t tie it down and the store manager gave him a new one…”gotta keep tha customer happy”, he says. Jeeeeees

  • Sam Ashai

This is an excellent site for HAmppton Bay Customer Support Line. When will Home Depot learn from your excellent site. I know they speak English not Chinese. No excuse for saying I dont speak your language. I hope you guys forward a copy of this to the Better Business Bureau so that Home Depot’s deceptive practice of not publishing customer support lines to repair products can be exposed.

Your effort is a job wrll done!

  • Andrew

I bought two Hampton Bay ceiling fans in Miami and brought them down to Grand Cayman where I live. One globe broke in shipment. I phoned the Hampton Bay customer support line and gave the UPC. I was told to phone the manufacturer, Air Cool, in Arizona. I phoned Air Cool and explained that I needed to replace a broken globe. A very helpful man said “no problem” and a new one was shipped to my parents in West Virginia at no charge (they don’t ship overseas) – took 6 days for them to get it. My parents will send it on to me.

  • lylee

Does anyone know about finding replacement blades for a hampton bay fan?

  • Chris

I am truly glad that I found this post. It was VERY informative, especially the phone numbers. We have a fan that came with the house, built in 2002. One of our children broke the light glass. This morning I tried the Hampton Bay Customer Support Line 1-877-527-0313 Sandy answered right away. She took my information and UPC code and transferred me to Sondra at King of Fans. Sondra confirmed my information and said the glass is on its way and should arrive in about a week. Total hold time about two minutes. What a pleasant suprise.

  • http://Grabbingsand Dolly

This is such a great website for Hampton Bay. Just got off the phone with Casey at Hampton Bay, in Louisiana (877-527-0313)…advised her that the Globe on my Hampton Bay Sidewinder fan broke…gave her the UPC#…she’s faxing the info to Lavery Madison Co. who will send me the Globe at NO CHARGE…thanking all of you who had given the info…

  • Monica

HELP – I can”t even get a human being to answer the 877-527-0313 #. No mater vwhat extension I press, I get disconnected.
I purchased a Hampton Bay 7 piece Patio set (Simone) at HD – the set is FALLING APART!!! The table top is rotted and the chairs are rusted. If there is anyone out there to assist – your input would be greatly appreciated.

  • Rene

Got a flush-mount fan from someone remodeling a house, but not the hanger bracket, setting screws for the globes, screws for the blade arms, or a manual (mfd 1992). The logo sticker on the side said Crest. The ONE website that came up under the search results pointed to the fact that Hampton Bay used to be Crest. After finding the CS# here for HB, I called them and got an immediate and helpful person. HB is not a manufacturer, but yes, Crest used to manufacture fans for them, but they are now out of business. Woo-hoo!! I thought I was finally getting somewhere. Unfortunately, they can only check by UPC or SKU # which is not located anywhere on this fan. Model # and all the other stuff on the sticker is moot to them because Crest is out of business. If I can find the SKU #, they might be able to contact one of their OTHER vendors and see if they can get the part for me…but – not – without – the – SKU.
I tried http://www.eceilingfans.com for the bracket, but, without anything to compare it to, I don’t know which one I need or if there’s any other parts I might be missing that are required to hang it.
So…once again, I’m back to square-one!! Argh! It’s a beautiful fan w/4-lights and a center globe light. Guess you can’t complain when you get it for free…back to the web!

  • Louis

I called and ask for a replacement globe for my Hampton Bay fan, but i ended up being charge $40 something dollar for the globe. how come most other people got their replacement for free?

  • austin

I have to replace a remote for a HB fan bot in 1999. I got to kingoffans.com and they gave me the number (800)330-3267 ext 4066 and said Angela would take care of me. I called that number and the part is on the way. I assume that may work for the glass parts, blades, etc., as well.

  • Antonio

Same Story on Replacement Globe. Assumed it would be a gimme, cheap frosted globe. $5 at store, right? First to Home Depot. Nada. Then to several Lighting Stores. Nada. Back to Home Depot. They shrug.

Internet. Nada. No HamptonBay webiste; nothing on Home Depot Webiste. Finally found this Site. Called the number; they sent to me King of Fans. $40 later — yes 40 bucks for globe/shipping — I am finally getting the cheap Globe. Guy told me I could find gloe nowhere else. I am not sure the Fan was more that $80.

    Adios Home Depot. Never again.

  • Brent

Trying to locate a 60 or 72 inch downrod for a HB model St Regis fan in ancient bronze finish. Called HB parts & service who gave me the phone number to Fantek, was told item had been discontinued.Anyone have any suggestions, have tried Lowes but nothing really close in matching finish.

I have been on a hunt to find a replacement globe for my Winward II fan since the summer when my tenant accidentally cracked it. Went to Home Depot they were no help, no phone numbers on the box or the owners manual which I find pretty amazing. I had got ticked that I couldn’t get this fixed so I had put the manual in te draw and I found it today and I said let me get on the computer see if I can find a number to get this handled. Thanks to this website I got the number for HB customer service they said my fan was made by King of Fans and gave me the number and within 5 minutes I had my globe paid for and on its way. Little bit of a sticker shock $48 but it will be fixed so it was worth it. Why all this secretecy with the phone numbers? Customers need help with their products make is as simple for all involved. I have definitely saved these numbers for future reference just in case but I think I will buy fans from nationally known makers the next time, might life easier should something breaks.

  • Jeof

Thru Hampton Bay cust. serv. #, I found 800# for the maufacturer of my ceiling fan. She gave me the part # for a replacement globe. I then called Expo, where we purchased the fan, and they special ordered the part to ship direct in 7-10 days.
This blog saved me my usual quest to force customer service. Thanks !
A side note: The replacement globe cost me $47 – ridiculous considering the whole fan only cost @ $150-. Must be how the company makes up for low prices. Makes you wonder if a better, more expensive fixture would have lasted longer and been a better value!

  • Les

I have a HB celing fan, and was wondering if anywhere on this fan the UPC # is located. I do not have the manuel, so does this make it impossible to replace a frosted glass globe? This fan is about 7 yrs old.

    Thank you

I too have a globe problem. I bought the st. regis fan. When the 50 watt main bulb burnt out after a week I could not unscrew the globe. I think that I broke the housing itself trying to unscrew it. I am going to have to break the globe just to replace the very dim bulb and fix what ever I broke inside. Any way if I can get a replacement globe then I will move the fan to our bedroom as thats about all the light it produces. Had it over our dinning room table. Not bright.

  • http://villaziklag.com anne

I bought 6 Hampton bay Brookdale bedroom fans for my villa in Barbados. The place is only now being finished and the painter was “standing on a ladder accross the room” not touching anything when the globe of the fan light suddenly shatted all on its own!! Leaving that mystery alone, I have returned to the US of A and I am tyring to buy a replacement globe. I happened upon this Blog quite by chance. Thank you for all the resources. Here goes…..A

  • Connie

Just got off the phone with HB. Sheralyn answered right away, took my information, was on hold for a few minutes. Can’t get the glass for the wall sconce WE broke, but they are sending us a $40 gift card, which is how much the whole light cost.
Thanks for the customer service number! I too looked everywhere for HB contact information.
    Good luck everyone!

  • Ed Diamond

I have tried various numbers including Hampton Bay and have tried to get a lighting catalog. Everybody including H B saod taht they will send the catalog. I got some numbers from Home Depot and their YOW line but have never gotton the catalog.
    ???????????????????????????????????
    Thank you

SAme experience as MANY. Broken light cover of Hampton Bay light. Called their 1-877-527-0313 number & gave them UPC code. FOund out the actual manufacturer is Lavery-Madison. Anyway, Hampton Bay gave me the Sku # and part # and told me to go to Home Depot to order the part.
The entire light fixture (pendant light) was $64. The price of the 4 inch diameter glass cover that simply screws on to conceal the bulb is $55.
    I’m looking for a Plan B!!!!

  • Sandra

In reading the many comments about Hampton Bay I went in with doubts. But to my surprise I got right through, and got what I needed. Very little wait time and very curtious help.

  • Lisa

Has anyone experienced an exploding dome on a Hampton Bay light fixture?

    Here’s my story.

I bought an 8 inch Hampton Bay dome light fixture (very inexpensive) and installed it over the sink in my kitchen. My problems began several months later. I replaced the light bulb and about 24 hours later the dome exploded. Fortunately no one was in the room, but glass was everywhere. The light bulb was not broken or burnt out and the fixture otherwise worked fine.

Thinking that either (1)I failed to screw in the dome correctly and it fell or (2) the dome exploded from overheating because I inadvertantly installed a 75 watt bulb instead of the max allowed of 60 watts, I went to Home Depot and purchased another of the same fixture. I then I replaced the dome. I also made certain it was securely attached and that a 60 watt bulb was used (the max allowed per the instructions on the box). Within 24 hours, the dome exploded again!! Once again, the light bulb was not broken or burnt out.

Home Depot gave me my money back for the second purchase. They said they never heard of this happening before. I want to contact Hampton Bay about this and while for a way to contact them, I came about this excellent site.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has experienced anything like this.

    Thanks.

I too have been down the HD Globe replacement night mare… we purchased six ceiling fans for our new home and installed them all.. THe last one.. the globe hit the floor and smashed into a million pieces.. I went to the store today to tray and “BUY” a replacment.. No such luck. Couldn’t they let me get one from another fan of the same.. and then they could return that fan for a credit? No I was told.. THen the manager told me if I had the broken globe .. he would do that.. Oh Crap I thought.. I put it in the garbage.. and it went to the curb for our trashman this morning.. I raced home.. but was too later.. I called the manager and told him I was too late.. The trash man had gone. At this time I reminded him that we had spent a lot of money on light fixtures. HE thanked me for that and replyed that there was no replacement globes and nothing more he could do! I asked for a phone number to call the company directly and he laughed at me.. I said that those fans were made for HD only. And there was no place I could call.. Oh yes there is I told him …and I came home and googled it.. and I found this blog.. OH MY! WHat a mess I am in to.. all of are lighting fixtures are HD …I have a feeling we are going to be in troble when they need something.. I just calle dthe Hampton BAy folks.. and was on hold.. more than I like… BUt Jennifer was really nice and gave me the name of the company I need to speak with. I will call then in a hour.. they are in AZ and behind us in time.. I have a feeling this is only the beginning..wish me luck.. I am going in!

Oh Gosh! I guess I may be SOL on getting my fan replaced or getting some help. Our fan has been humming away since installed in our new home 7 yrs ago. Was doing fine until 2 days ago. It will not turn on. It’s a remote control fan, thus no pull chain. Changed the battery in the remote unit. Checked our light switch. Everything checks out. Could be the switch inside the remote. Not sure where our owner’s manual is. Husband is very, very frustrated! ACK. Thanks for all the interesting info and the phone numbers. We missed them today, guess we can try again tomorrow.

  • Sarah

Lisa – we also had our dome explode. I haven’t replaced it yet so I’m not sure if the problem will repeat itself. I assumed the same thing though – that I had not tightened it enough – until I read your post. Interesting – we also had the 8″ fixture.

  • chris

i also was told to call air cool who has the replacment globes at 1-877-898-1881 & 1-800-896-4908 in az…the most hate full lady i have ever talked to answered…she is so hateful i hung up and call again but when i called she heard me talking to another customer service person and started screaming in the back ground at me…i ask to speak to a supervisor but the guy said she was his supervisor…she was still screaming and i told the guy this was unprofessional…i still dont have my globe !

  • Morgan Bouldin

What is with these people??? I can’t believe you had such an experience Chris! Nevermind the other folks here who have had similar bad experiences. Sheesh! My husband is taking our fan down as I type this. I guess we are going to HD tonight. I told him it’s been too long, they will not give us a replacement. He hasn’t called the CS # yet. We’ll try his way first. I’m not confident that it will be resolved.

  • Andy

Thanks for the phone numbers. I broke a globe for a ceiling fan and called the HD number. They not only gave me the same number that another blogger posted to Air Cool, but they also connected me through while I was on hold. The extremely friendly person at Air Cool knew my fan by name and confirmed all the model and SKU numbers. The whole process took 4-5 minutes. I received my globe in the mail today, 4 working days after my phone call. The total was $22.95 including S&H. Thanks to everyone for all your help!!

  • http://grabbingsand.org Mary

Need to replace globe for flush mount fixture I bought in late 2004. I can not find my receipt. Therefore, cannot find the SKU or UPC#. The globe is a 12″ “alabaster” designed glass. It screws on to the base. Does anyone by chance have the UPC and/or SKU number for it? Thanks.

  • Angela

Thanks to all the info I just read, I will be putting a label of some type on the top of my fan with the SKU# just incase I lose my book. We just bought a Miramar that I love. I am worried about the globes though. I did have to laugh when I went to HB’s site before this to see if I could register my warranty online. They state something about assembling in no time. Yeah right, that is a joke.

  • Raul

Home Depot sucks. Same story, Hampton Bay chandelier, I broke one of the glasses. After weeks of multiple calls & messages to Home Depot, they finally advised to call “Hampton Bay” at 800-283-6513, Tel: 954.484.7500, http://www.gpwarranty.com.. turned out to be “King of Fans”. They advise to call Hampton Bay at 877-527-0313, gave them the sku.. they advised to call Bright Industries in Atlanta, GA, 404-505-7049.. nightmare! After several calls “Scott” answered and took my sku # and said they would ship a replacement “glass” for $25.00.. and it will arrive at my house in about 3 weeks… we’ll see. Never buying another Hampton Bay item after this 3 month search for help.

  • Sean

My story is really the same as everyone else’s. Went to HD got sku and promise they would call me back after checking with vendor or home depot HQ to see if part could be obtained. No callback and no luck. Called Air cool at 1-800-898-1881 spoke with Joann, she was very polite and asked for the SKU # she then said I will ship it out tomorrow. Thanks for this FANtastic blog. I was having zero luck with trying to find this company on the www.

  • Shannon Stevens

Most of these posts seem to deal with lights and ceiling fans, but how about an exploding HB patio set? Neat, huh? I purchased a 7 pc HB “Lasserre” set to the tune of around $700 (problems abounded getting all pieces without manufacturer defects), and eventually, it was fine. On Sunday, my family and friends had all gathered at my house for a BBQ and we heard a loud cracking noise. We looked out the window just in time to watch the glass top of the table shatter into thousands of pieces and drop to the ground. These pieces continued to crackle and pop on the patio for several minutes until we were able to get it swept up. Interesting.

The HB website refers me to Home Depot, who, of course can (and/or will)do nothing. Replacement glass from a local vendor is anywhere from $275 – $350 – hardly worth it. Tried to find a replacement table and found a website called http://www.consumeraffairs.com who, lo and behold, has had many reports of the spontaneously combusting tables from across the country. According to the website, there is a class action pending for just this reason. JRA Furniture is the glass manufacturer for Hampton Bay and Martha Stewart tables (also exploding) – I found an email address for them, but I’m not holding my breath. Am I really out $700? This stinks. Especially considering it took me half the season to actually get all the pieces in last summer in decent condition. Any advice is appreciated.

  • Heidi

I bought a two-light HB light fixture from homedepot.com. One of the sockets is crooked. HD referred me to HB, who said the manufacturer is Bright and that the socket is not on the list of replacement parts. Thanks for the Bright phone number (too bad it’s not toll free). I would really like to just take the thing down and get a fixture from another store but am reluctant because I’m so close to the end of a long kitchen remodeling. With this blog in hand, I pick up the phone. Wish me luck! By the way, when I checked homedepot.com, they only had three-light HB fixtures. When I looked before, they had two-light but no three-light fixtures. Strange!

  • Heidi

I just spoke to Scott at Bright (see Raul 4/24/07 above) to see whether I could get a replacement socket. Can’t get one because these fixtures are all made in China, which corroborates above comments about parts coming on a slow boat from China.

  • Sylvia Martinez

I purchased a 7 piece patioset last year, and immediately stored it, unopened. after a few months and finally with my construction over with. I opened it assembled the table, no problem.. however the chairs have NO bolts or instructions. the Lasserre set is no longer available. Does anyone have the instructions? or a number where I can call to order. if I only had the bolt sizes I can just buy them at a hardware store… HD was no help.. go figure..

  • Sue

Here’s a suggestion. Get extra glass shades, globes ahead of time for hampton bay products bought from home depot.com by ordering an extra fixture usually with free shipping. Buy a similar shaped and colored shade/globe at a local store, break it and put it in the box after taking out the shade/globe that you need to replace. Call HD return number and tell them that the fixture they just sent you within the previous seven days has a broken shade/globe and you want to return it. Then return the fixture with the new broken broken shade/globe with prepaid shipping (by Home Depot). This only works, of course, with a fixture that they are still selling. Might want to get an extra shade while you are still ahead.

  • Joe

Well I just learned today that Air Cool no longer does the warranty support for Hampton Bay. The woman I spoke to at Air Cool laughed and thought it was funny that I did not save the book that came with my ceiling fan that has been up for over a year now. Then she could not stay on the phone long enough for me to read her the numbers off the fan. I called her back she hung up on me. I called back again and now to say the least I am fuming! Only for her to give me another number. This one was TAL 877-902-5588 nice enough people. They are sending my my new light globe and remote unit. My suggestion do not buy Hampton Bay. I have a Hunter fan I needed parts for and no problem 1 number got my parts. They even have a nice website with phone numbers unlik Hampton Bay.

  • Courtney

I love th info. My Sedona Light collection from HB need the candle-like covers replaced after my f-i-law scrubbed off the inter finish! I called HB and would you believe, the co that manufactured the lights (Spectrum Creations) are righ here in my home town of San Antonio – what luck. Thanks for the info.

  • Clara

My father-in-law broke one of the globes on a chandalier as we were installing it. Had I known how much trouble it would be to find replacement parts, I may not have purchased the fixture. However, I will try the 877-527-0313 number during regular business hours (8-5 M-F CST). If that doesn’t work, I guess I’ll be returning the one I purchased and finding something else entirely. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that since it’s already installed.

    Lessons learned:
1 – Don’t let in-laws help with installation (the relationship is more important than the heartache of finding replacement parts).

    2 – Don’t buy Hampton Bay products.

  • Elaine

Well, thank goodness for e-mail, but it still didn’t help. We bought 2 fans for our living room from Home Depot 10 years ago and our daughter decided to practice her color guard underneath, breaking one of the light globes. After spending time at Home Depot looking in vain for something, finally decided to look on line and found this site. called Air Cool and as soon as she heard our vendor number: 655310, knew that it was CEI America/Smartee and that they went our of business 3 years ago. So, we are out of luck. Does anyone want to buy 7 globes for Hampton Bay-model St.Claire? give you a great deal!

  • sherry

Purchased several HB southwind II fans a few years ago. Suddenly 4 of the 6 remotes stopped working. New batteries did not fix it. Dip stick settings have not been altered. Any clues as to what is happening and what to do? Where can I get new remotes, and would a generic universal remote work?

  • kevin

    I bought

  • cheri

Bhought Hampton Bay floor lamp with colored plastic shades for grandson. The shades did not look standard so I called HD to buy extras incase of shades cracking with age of just spliting from heat. Was given this Hampton Bay CS number which was different from all of the others posted 800-841-1350. CS needed my code number which HD gave me and she checked and found manufacture, put me on hold and calld them. Sorry to say no replacements for this particular lamp. Have to be careful. CS lady gave me a reference number to use when calling for any other Hampton Bay products in the future. Very experienced and handled in a few minutes.

  • Susan

I found a HUGE replacement light website at REASONABLE prices! check it out lightingbygregory dotcom. I have 3 1/2 to 3 2/3″ neck & am waiting for their reply, as I don’t have time to go thru all their covers. MANY of them!

  • http://Lasserrepatioset LISA EARLY

I guess I am in a similiar situation with Hampton Bay. My patio table top was shattered and I haven’t found anything as far as a replacment top on the internet. Sylvia Martinez. I will see if I have any paperwork at home and see what I come up with.

  • Chuck Kocher

Amazing… we purchased a new home 7 years ago that had Hampton Bay Ceiling Fans. One died this summer (perfect timing)… and then when we finally got someone in customer service they “rudely” told us that the warranty is with the builder and that we had no other recourse unless we had a receipt for purchase. I told I had a title for my home and she of course continued to read a customer dis-service script not listening to word that I was saying. So if you buy a new home with Hapton Bay Ceiling or Lighting products…, good luck… you have no warranty!
This type of business practice is what destroys a business… I am almost tempted to sell my Hoem Depot stock and replace it with Lowes.

  • Carrie

We are having the same problem, we bought 2 for the upstairs in our newly renovated home, we needed a 3rd for the front bedroom, (Belvedere model) we ordered one off of e-bay. The person that sold it to us has more than one for sale, the morning that they sent it, they emailed us and told us that they broke the globe while packing. (it was supposed to be new in the box) They SENT THE FAN ANYWAY. We wanted to find a globe, but tomorrow is our 6th day of having the fan. The sellers are going to have a package in the mail from us if we cannot find a globe by Monday evening! Any help would be appreciated!

  • Nancy

I have a one year old Oakley Model fan which I purchased mainly for how nice the globes were. Literally 2 weeks after it being installed my son swung an arm through one of the globes. I tried to get a replacement at HD to no avail and couldn’t find anyone to help. My husband then put a child’s light saber toy through another globe around christmas-now 2 broken globes! I bought replacements which did not match the other 2 remaining globes (looks very crappy). After being tired of looking at the fan with 2 nice globes and 2 ugly ones, i googled Hampton Bay and came up with this site. I am happy to say that i called HB cust service who immediately helped me and gave me the number of Aircool in AZ (877-898-1881). They promptly picked up and knew exactly which fan I had, although the woman seemed shocked that I needed 2 globes rather than one, and told me that since the fan was over a year old I had to pay $9 for each globe plus S&H. No problem I told her. After giving her my CC info, she said I’d have the globes within 3-5 business days. When I asked her for a confirmation number for proof she gave me her name and said she didn’t have one yet because she was just writing up the order but that she’d call me later with it. She called about 15 min later with the tracking number of my package because she said they’d ship it that same day! So hopefully very soon I will have my replacements. Thanks to the info on this site I will have my fan looking like new!!! I should have thought to Google sooner………

  • Elaine

The stakes for my solar lights have bent causing the lights to lean over. Has anyone found replacements for these?

  • Ada

Problem finally solved. Hopefully, this will help someone else:

Bought 2 Hampton Bay Fans(The Pearl, Model 178-210) in ’97 from Home Depot. Three years ago, one of my son’s friends decided to throw a toy in the air, shattering the glass screw-on globe. At the time, armed with the Manufacturer name, UPC and SKU numbers, I tried getting the piece through Home Depot. Home Depot patched me along to King of Fans, who told me at the time that they believed the piece was no longer manufactured. King of Fans gave me a few other leads, all which were dead ends.

Recently tried searching again, and finally found a company who helped me obtain the glass screw-on globe from China at a cost of $50. Not cheap, but worth it considering how difficult it was to find the piece and how much more costly (and silly) it would be to replace the fan just for aesthetic purposes.

    Cool Breezes
    1335 W. Campbell Road
    Richardson, TX 75080
    Contact: Floretta
    Tel: (972) 690-4580

Note, Cool Breezes did not have the piece, but with the SkU and UPC codes, Floretta was able to speak with her contact and order the piece. Once she received it and confirmed it seemed correct, it was then that she sold it to me.

    Good Luck.

  • Stephanie H.

Thank you everyone for posting phone numbers. I have a Hampton Bay lighting problem. I have been rerouted to the Expo and hopefully they will have the part. The Home Depo employee called me back two times and was very helpful.I thought this was a dead end regarding the light fixture.

  • Adina

My ceiling fan glass globe was broken by my boys! I have been searching for a replacement for a long time. I have a Southwind V 52″ Hampton Bay so I was directed to King of Fans 1-800-330-3267. Thanks for the help!

  • CJ

So grateful to have found this website. I lost a cap screw to a white exterior wall lantern #250 399. I called one of the Hampton phone numbers. A very friendly & polite lady named Gail answered right away; found they are no longer doing business with the company who made this product; no parts available. Gail suggested I check H.Depot for the parts. I had already checked, in the lighting dept. She thought the part might be in the hardware isle. She put me on hold and called my local H.Depot store. I was told to stop by the special order desk and talk to a store employee “expeditor” named Barb who will help me locate the part in the store. I hope it’s the correct part I need. Wish me luck!

  • http://ericcarroll.org Eric Carroll

I have a Hampton Bay fan that the chain broke off of the three speed switch. I tried replacing the switch, but now we have Low, High, High, High (not exactly convenient). Of course, the wires are not your standard colors either (purple, orange, yellow, black instead of red, blue, black, white).

I spoke with our local Home Depot (as I was told to do) and they said to call an electrician and/or the manufacturer, but didn’t have a number for me to call.

Thanks to this post, I called the number you provided, was issued a support ticket number and transferred over to King of Fans (1-800-330-3267) where they said it was under warranty and I should receive a part in about five days at no charge.

Thank you, again, for this post.

  • Lisa

Thanks so much for this information!

  • Jason

I need replacement fan blade screws for a Hampton Bay fan. After reading this blog I called Hampton Bay Customer Support at 1-800-330-3267. They offered to send me new screws free of charge – 7-10 business days. That’s not bad – if they actually deliver. We’ll see.

  • Jason

I have to say I was very impressed with Hampton Bay’s customer service. My fan arrived with no fan blade screws. I called Customer Support at 800.330.3267 and they sent me new screws without any hassle. Sent them by mail (to Canada at $2.60 postage, which they paid out of their own pocket).

    Good work, Hampton Bay!

  • Jon

One call to Hampton Bay 1-877-527-0313 was all it took to procure a replacement glass shade for model 178-210 (The Pearl). Ena in Customer Service was helpful and polite – the whole process took less than 10 minutes & supposedly my glass is on its way from Ceiling Fans USA in Glendale, Arizona.

  • Mike

this sucks. i called this number given in this blog, 800-841-1350, and it asks if you are calling for replacement parts to press 1. it then transfers to the 877-527-0313 number, where none of the automated options asks about replacement parts, and if you don’t select one of the irrelevant options in about 5 seconds it hangs up. i then tried800-330-3267 number and was told the wait was over 20 minutes. guess i will try again when i have more time. not much hope..

  • missy

so last year, my wife and i bought two flush mounted flourescent fixtures for our kitchen.
last week, the bracket that holds the tubes in place broke, dropped the tube and broke the globe.
i tried getting a replacenet globe and glue the bracket, but ended in frustration. i went to home depot to buy a new fixture, so as to have a new, matching fixture. on the way out of the store, i stopped at the service desk and asked if the rep had a minute for a sad story. bottom line, i was given a new fixture, at no charge, and asked only to bring back the part that failed. way to go, home depot !!

  • Gayle

Thank you so much for posting on this blog. I bought the Hampton Bay outdoor wall lanterns for my home. While changing the light bulb, my boyfriend broke the glass globe. I checked Google for Hampton Bay and came up with this blog. Most of you are wonderful people sharing this information for the rest of us. I called the 800 number listed, talked with a C/S rep named Candis who was most helpful. She told me my globe was manufactured by Excel in Canada. She said they were closed on the weekend and she would call them within 72 hrs. and conference me in with the manufacturer. I also have a ticket number and feel the customer service was very helpful and so far had a good experience.
Good luck to the rest who have Hampton Bay replacement problems.

  • Virginia

After going around from one 800 number to another I finally got a very nice customer service rep named Belinda at Air Cool 1-800-896-4908 that was able to solve my problem finding a replacement globe for my Hampton Bay 50in. Gazebo Plus ceiling fan that I purchased thru HomeDepot.com She asked me for the UPC# and she was able to locate the globe for me, they will be shipping that out today at no charge. So I think I was lucky, let’s hope it’s not broken when I get it.
Thank you to all the people that posted good information on this blog.

  • Ray

I took a broken globe back to the store and they just opened a new one gave me the part and sent that one back internally to get it repaired. Can’t do much better than that.

  • wendy

i bought 3 pendant lights for my kitchen and the tranformers already burn out the sku number are 619-869. they cost me 50.00 each and the box said satisfaction guananteed. NOW WHAT?

  • Don

I have a HB Alchemy ceiling fan/light which has non-functioning remote or receiver.
Will I be able to get either or both of those under warranty from HD?
Or, how do I tell which of the two is broken?

  • http://none Jose L. Berrios

HAHAHA…this is actually happening to me right now. I’m on hold with the operator, and Also I originally talked to a Hampton Bay employee 1 month and a half ago, and she told me they were sending me a replacement for the broken globe. I am calling again because I’m still waiting.

  • Don

I just bought the HB Altura 68 in. ceiling fan from Home Depot. While I know this was not a high speed fan the blade rotation looks painfully slow and I can’t believe it moves almost 9,000 cfm of air. So, after reading the owners manual again for the 4th time without finding any standard RPM rating I called help number included (800-283-6513). This is for King of Fans, gpwarranty.com. After a 5 minute wait the service person told me in disgust to my question: High speed is 70 rpm, Med-40, & Low-20. Mine is running a little less that this but could have saved me the insult by just having the copy-writer put this in the manual.

I’m searching for a globe now. They still sell the fan so it’s probably easier for me to buy the fan, swap the globes and take the fan back. Not the most honest way but is easy.

Extraordinary designs, features and several advantages over other fans make Hampton Bay Ceiling Fans- choice of millions. If you have ever been to The Home Depot, they might have caught your eyes as well.

=/ I need to replace the globe as well.  It broke when I shook out a blanket which hid the cast iron pull flinging it up and ultimately shattering the glass.
