I was ready to make a post about how Joey Bishop really ought to have a more memorable name, and besides, shouldn’t a person have to actually sing or dance or do anything entertaining before being considered a fully-vested member of the Rat Pack? Fine. He married Debbie Reynolds, maybe? No, that was Eddie Fisher.

Of course, at 87, Bishop is the only surviving member of the aforementioned Pack O’ Rats. I guess that counts for something. Maybe he gets free upgrades from grande to venti at the Malibu Beach Starbucks.

    I’m pretty pissed that the doubters on our team actually succeeded in convincing us to bet 2 on the final question. If I’d been feeling more awake and thinking less about my back pain (another story altogether) I would’ve fought harder. And we would’ve won with 101 points.

    Oh well.

    The most physically addictive drug, legal or not, is nicotine. I still wonder if he meant meth is the most physiologically addictive drug, or if he meant more people relapse back to meth, or what. Saying “what is the most addictive illegal drug?” is a little . . . imprecise.

    I knew Joey Bishop’s first name at the T-minus 30 seconds mark, but the last name just wouldn’t appear. I was picturing that photograph, the one with all of the Rat Packers standing in front of the marquee at The Sands.

    Good thing he didn’t ask about Peter Lawford. I would never have remembered a thing about him.
